The Indian stock market opened with gains on Wednesday, October 15, the third trading day of the week. The 30-share BSE Sensex opened with a gain of 167.27 points at 82,197.25. NSE Nifty 50 also opened at 25,181.95 with a gain of 36.45 points or 0.14 per cent. As of 9:25 am, the Sensex was trading at 82,350, up 320 points. Nifty 50 was trading at 25,235 with a gain of 90 points.

How was the market on Tuesday?
The second trading session of the week, on October 14, saw a huge decline in the Indian stock market and both the major indices closed in the red. The Sensex fell 297.02 points or 0.36 per cent to 82,029.98, while the Nifty 50 fell 81.85 points or 0.32 per cent to 25,145.50.
Tech Mahindra, ICICI Bank, Hindustan Unilever and Power Grid were the biggest gainers among BSE shares. TCS, BEL, Tata Steel, NTPC and Bajaj Finance were the biggest losers. Nifty Bank, Nifty Midcap 100, Nifty Midcap 100 and Nifty Auto recorded a decline. On Tuesday’s trading day, almost all the indices closed in the red. Global instability and heavy selling had brought the stock market into the red. The stock market started on the green mark on Tuesday. The Sensex jumped 77 points to 82,404, while the Nifty 50 index opened with a gain of 50 points at 25,277.
