It is common to feel tired, lethargic and restless during the summer season, but if you do not feel energy in the body even after getting enough sleep, then it can be a sign of “summer fatigue” or “heat exhaustion”. This condition occurs when the body is unable to adapt itself to the increasing temperature.
In summer fatigue, the body feels weak and tired, but the body temperature does not increase much. Sweating continues and the person gets relief by resting in the shade or in a cool place. Heat stroke is a serious condition in which the body temperature increases too much and sweating may stop. In such a situation, it is necessary to take the person to the hospital immediately.
If there is excessive hair fall during summer, excessive thirst, dizziness, difficulty in climbing stairs, loss of appetite or fatigue persists even after 8 hours of sleep, then these can be signs of summer fatigue. Constant headache and difficulty in taking decisions are also considered its symptoms.
In summer, essential minerals are released from the body, so drinking water alone is not enough. Drinking buttermilk mixed with black salt and roasted cumin is considered beneficial. Coconut water, lemon water and sattu keep the body hydrated. Instead of heavy food, take porridge, cucumber and light food. Take special care of small children and use blackout curtains in the house so that the room remains cool.
