New Delhi, November 9 (IANS). It is generally believed that stomach problems only affect the stomach and digestion, but this is not so. Every stomach related disease starts affecting the entire body.
Constipation is a stomach related problem, which people often consider normal. People believe that constipation happens occasionally due to food habits and is a common thing, but it affects the entire digestive system, which can cause diseases like headache, intestinal inflammation, piles etc.
In Ayurveda, constipation is considered the root of every disease. Constipation i.e. filth accumulated in the intestines is the cause of diseases in the body, which destroys the good bacteria through toxic substances and the bad bacteria start growing rapidly in the body.
In Ayurveda, constipation is called fecal impaction and has been linked to the increase of Vata dosha. In this, the stool dries up in the intestines and due to the increase in Vata dosha, intestinal motility reduces, due to which the intestines become unable to remove toxic substances from the body and dirty bacteria start growing. Constipation not only affects the digestive system, but it also causes problems like gas formation, headache, vomiting, nausea, intestinal infection, piles and stress.
Many ways have been suggested in Ayurveda to get rid of constipation, through which the toxic substances present in the body can be removed. Triphala powder is a powder which is taken as medicine for many diseases. It contains Amla, Harad and Baheda, which provides relief from many problems. One spoon of Triphala powder should be taken in lukewarm water in the morning on an empty stomach. This cleans the stomach and also reduces the pressure on the intestines.
Eating figs and raisins also provides relief from constipation. Both can be soaked overnight and taken on an empty stomach in the morning or boil figs and raisins with milk at night and consume the milk when it is lukewarm. If you want to know an even easier way, then consume 6 raisins filled with black salt on an empty stomach in the morning. By doing these things, constipation will start breaking in the intestines and it will become easier to pass out from the intestines.
Figs and raisins are rich in fiber, which helps the intestines to function actively.
You can also use lemon and honey on an empty stomach in the morning. This helps in cleaning the stomach and also supplies Vitamin C in the body. Along with this, take more fiber in your diet. Avoid fruit juices and eat whole fruits and pulses. Along with this, light walking and exercise will also provide relief.
