Wazirabad, October 15 (IANS). Wazirabad police station has raided two factories manufacturing fake toothpaste and Eno running in Jagatpur village of the capital Delhi. The police have arrested the owner of the fake close-up factory, Nabeel, and some of his employees.
Wazirabad police station had received information from an informer that fake products were being manufactured on a large scale in a rented house in Jagatpur. Based on the information, the police took immediate action along with the officials of the concerned company.
As soon as they reached the village, the police surrounded the house and searched it, in which harmful chemicals scattered on the tables, heaps of powder without labels, fake packing machines, and sacks of raw material kept in the corners were recovered.
In the raid, the police have recovered hundreds of ready-made tubes of fake Close-up toothpaste and boxes full of fake Eno powder in huge quantity. The special thing is that in one part of the house a fake close-up was being made, while in the other part a factory for making fake Eno was going on. This factory was running in the middle of a densely populated residential area and its goods were being supplied to the surrounding rural areas.
The police have arrested Nabeel, the owner of the fake close-up factory, and some of his employees from the spot. Whereas, the owner of the Eno manufacturing factory is said to be absconding from the spot.
Wazirabad police station has sealed both the factories and has started investigation to nab other members of this entire racket, for how many days it was going on and where it was supplied.
Hindustan Unilever Limited official Narendra said that action has been taken on the basis of information from the informer. A huge quantity of counterfeit goods has been recovered from the spot. Initial investigation has revealed that work was going on here for a long time.
Pappu, who works in a fake toothpaste factory, said that we used to make it from here and supply it in the previous areas. There has been a factory here for many years and they used to sell it at low prices. Three people used to work with me in this factory.
