New Delhi, January 14 (IANS). Stomach is an important and necessary part of the body. It is believed that if the stomach is healthy then more than half of the diseases get cured on their own, but due to today’s comfortable lifestyle, stomach related diseases have become a problem for people of all ages.
Problems of loss of appetite, gas formation, acidity, indigestion and heaviness in the stomach have become common, but do you know that there is a way to get rid of all the diseases?
We are talking about fasting. Even though fasting involves starving yourself, it is not a punishment but a medicine. Stomach-related diseases can be treated with the help of medicines for a limited period of time, but after a time the effect of medicines also reduces, hence fasting is not a punishment but a way of cleaning the body from inside, which even no medicine can do. Fasting deeply cleanses the colon, helps heal the digestive system, and is a process of giving itself a chance to repair itself.
Now the question is how fasting can be done. First of all, you can start by fasting once in 15 days. Ekadashi will be suitable for this, because it falls twice a month. At the beginning of the fast, take fruits and eat only as many fruits as can provide energy to the body. Do not consume fruits to fill your stomach. Apart from this, consume honey water, coconut water, and plain water as much as possible. Water will help in removing all the dirt from the body.
Some people think that fasting will make them feel weak, but it is not so. This is just an illusion of our mind because the body gets only 30-40 percent energy from food, the rest of the energy comes from water, air, and rest. Therefore, it is wrong to think that fasting will make you feel weak. Japanese scientists have also done research on fasting. According to research conducted in the year 2018, by fasting, the body removes bad cells and creates new and healthy cells. This process is called autophagy.
