New Delhi, July 19 (IANS). Vardhaman Mahaveer Medical College (VMMC) and Safdarganj Hospital have issued a health bulletin on Sunday regarding social activist Sonam Wangchuk. Sonam Wangchuk, who was on hunger strike at Jantar Mantar, was admitted to the hospital by Delhi Police on Saturday.
Safdarganj Hospital issued a health bulletin saying that Sonam Wangchuk is being given necessary medical treatment in the hospital. At present his vital health parameters are stable. There is a slight change in his blood parameters. Given the stress and effects of prolonged fasting on the body, he requires constant medical care under the close supervision of a multi-disciplinary team of experts.
The health bulletin further states that doctors at Safdarjung Hospital and ESM believe that Sonam Wangchuk’s current condition requires continuous medical treatment and 24-hour clinical monitoring to promptly detect and manage any possible complications, therefore, she is being given all necessary medical care and clinical status, blood parameters are being continuously monitored.
Let us tell you that after the health of Sonam Wangchuk, who was on indefinite hunger strike at Jantar Mantar deteriorated, she was admitted to Safdarjung Hospital in the early hours of Saturday on the instructions of Delhi High Court and on the advice of doctors.
Sonam Wangchuk joined the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) movement which has been protesting at Jantar Mantar since June 6 demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan in the alleged NEET paper leak case. Wangchuk formally started his fast unto death from June 28.
At the same time, opposition leaders, social workers and some film personalities have protested against Wangchuk’s hospitalization.

Congress leader Pawan Kheda, former Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee, NCP-SP chief Sharad Pawar and Shiv Sena-UBT MP Sanjay Raut also condemned the police action against Sonam Wangchuk.
