Kangra, May 23 (IANS). ‘Sunday on Cycle’ program is organized every Sunday under the Fit India Movement by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. Sports Authority of India (SAI) also extends its support in organizing this event. The Sports Ministry is also busy preparing for the Commonwealth Games 2030. Indian female wrestler Babita Phogat has reached Kangra in Himachal Pradesh to participate in this program.
Talking to reporters, Babita Phogat said, “Fit India Movement and Cycle Movement are being run like a movement across the country. I have come here as a sportsperson to participate in it. This program is very important from the health point of view.”
Babita said, “I have won a gold medal in the Commonwealth Games. It is the dream of every athlete to win a medal while playing for their country. It is very good that the 2030 Commonwealth Games is going to be organized in Ahmedabad. The Sports Ministry and SAI have started preparations for it.”
Giving his opinion on the de-addiction campaign, the former wrestler said, “If you have to be addicted to something, then why not be addicted to something? If you have to be passionate about something, then why not be the tricolor of our country? Even if there is a disease due to this addiction, it will be the disease of success, and it will also make your country proud.”
The ‘Sunday on Cycle’ program organized every Sunday under the Fit India Movement by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, aims to spread awareness among the youth about fitness. The ‘Sunday on Cycle’ program is also run as a campaign against obesity. Besides this, the message of environmental protection is also given.
