Date is More Beneficial for Health: Date is such a dry fruit, whose benefits have been told in Ayurveda for years. Dates are especially used to remove physical and mental weakness. Due to its warming nature in winter, its consumption increases even more.
Dates keep the body warm from inside and helps in providing relief from many problems like weakness, fatigue, digestion etc.
However, two types of dates are available in the market, one black and the other light yellow. In such a situation, people often have a question that what is the difference between them and which date is better for health.
Called black dates the real powerhouse
According to Ayurvedic expert Dr Robin Sharma, the real powerhouses are black dates. When the dates ripen completely naturally on the tree, their color becomes deep black and they are called black dates.
Iron, calcium, zinc and other essential minerals are found naturally in large quantities in them. This is the reason why black dates are considered more effective for physical weakness, anemia or strengthening of bones.
Yellow date palm looks good but lags behind in strength.
Dr. Sharma explains that even though yellow dates look cleaner and more attractive, in terms of nutrition it is weaker than black dates.
Actually, yellow dates are light in color because they are picked before they are fully ripe. Many times they are made edible by boiling them in hot water or water mixed with sugar syrup.
According to the doctor, in some cases there are reports of them being polished or acid washed so that they look more shiny, although this is not officially confirmed.
What is the correct way to eat dates?
Eating soaked dates is considered more beneficial. For this, soak dates in water at night and consume them on an empty stomach in the morning.
If you want to get more benefits, you can also eat dates by boiling them in milk. Due to this, the nutrients of both milk and dates together give more strength to the body.
