Gandhinagar, 10 September (IANS). Jeevan Aastha Trust celebrated its 10th Foundation Day in Gandhinagar Sector-17 in Gujarat on the occasion of World Suicide Prevention Day. Gujarat Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghvi, DGP Vikas Sahai and other senior officials were present on the occasion.
Speaking to reporters, Home Minister Harsh Sanghvi said, “Jeevan Aastha has been working to give new life to people for the last ten years. During this period, more than 1.5 lakh phone calls from different states and neighboring areas have helped thousands of people out of the idea of suicide through phone calls.”
He said that in the last 10 years, Jeevan Aastha helpline has become a ray of hope not only in Gujarat, but also for people of many states like Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. There is also a plan to connect this helpline with emergency number 112 soon, so that help can reach the people faster.
The Sanghvi appealed to the people and especially women not to make fun of anyone’s trouble. Help others by considering the crisis of them as your own. Disappointment is just a few moments and the help available at the right time can save life.
He said that the trouble on the other woman should consider it as your trouble and solve it, so that more and more people can be helped in a short time. Until we come together and help each other, the problem of people will not go away.
Sanghvi said, “It is our endeavor to make more and more people aware and help.
