Mumbai, March 17 (IANS). Indian wrestler and actor Sangram Singh talked about the adverse effects on health due to the increasing use of chemical pesticides and adulterated foods. Gujarat’s farmer and businessman Shailesh Jariya was also seen with Sangram Singh at an event organized in Mumbai, where he was seen emphasizing the need to adopt organic farming and pure food.
Sangram Singh present in the program also underlined the importance of organic food. He said that in today’s busy urban life, people have moved away from natural and fresh food. In childhood, people used to pluck fruits directly from the trees and eat them and bring fresh vegetables home from the fields, but now all this has ended to a great extent in the cities.
Emphasizing on balanced diet for fitness and health, Sangram Singh said that fresh and organic fruits and vegetables provide essential nutrients to the body. This not only increases physical strength but also protects against diseases in the long run. He appealed to the people to include natural and pure food in their plates.
On this occasion, he also told that he will soon take part in an international MMA competition. He will fight a fighter from France on April 5 in Argentina as part of the ‘Samurai Fight League’.
Shailesh Jaria said that most of the fruits and vegetables available in the market are proving to be hazardous to health due to excessive chemical pesticides. He said that a major reason for the rapid increase in serious diseases like cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure and heart disease is unhealthy eating habits and chemical-rich food.
Jaria highlighted the benefits of conventional and organic farming. He says that if farmers use natural fertilizers, organic fertilizers and traditional methods instead of chemical fertilizers and pesticides, the fertility of the soil will be maintained and consumers will be able to get safe, nutritious food. He appealed to the farmers to move towards organic farming so that the coming generations can remain healthy.
