Nature also changes its form with every changing season and in summer there is abundance of fresh fruits full of juice. With the onset of summer, juicy and sweet watermelons are easily available in the market.
In Ayurveda, watermelon is not considered just a fruit, rather it has been described as a bile suppressant fruit. Watermelon is considered to be the fruit of the month of Jyeshtha because at that time the temperature is the hottest and the nature of watermelon is cool. Even though watermelons and melons are available in the market from now on, their consumption can cause digestive problems. There are countless benefits of eating watermelon according to the season.
It not only keeps the body hydrated, but also helps in controlling weight. It has very low calories and high water content. In such a situation, once consumed, one does not feel hungry for a long time and overeating can be avoided. By eating watermelon, there is no shortage of water in the body in summer because 90 percent of watermelon is water. In such a situation, consuming watermelon in summer is beneficial. It also helps in bringing natural glow to the face and also keeps the body temperature balanced.
Vitamin C and Vitamin A are found in large quantities in watermelon, which is beneficial for the health of face and hair. Vitamin C also helps in increasing immunity, which reduces the problems of diarrhea and heartburn in summer. Apart from this, antioxidants are also present in watermelon, which help in recovering the muscles.
Even if there is a problem of swelling in the body, consumption of watermelon is beneficial. Potassium and antioxidants together work to strengthen the body. In summer, definitely eat watermelon in the afternoon. If you don’t have time to eat it after cutting it, then you can drink its juice by mixing it with mint, but drink the juice without filtering it.
