New Delhi, 27 September (IANS). In today’s digital world, everyone from children to big is surrounded by screen like smartphones, laptops, tablets and TVs. While this change has increased facilities, its negative effects on the eyes are also increasing. Keeping an eye on the screen for a long time has made problems like eye pain, irritation, itching and fatigue. Especially when waking up in the morning, many people feel severe pain or heaviness in the eyes, which makes it difficult to open eyes. In such a situation, complaints of stress and pain in the eye muscles may increase.

Experts say that along with reducing screen time, the eyes can be kept healthy by adopting some special yoga and pranayama techniques. These techniques not only relieve the fatigue of the eyes, but also help in improving the vision and providing mental peace.

Trataka: This is an ancient compound meditation technique, in which a certain point, such as a candle flame, a black point or a small cycle focuses without blinking an eyelid. It should be done in a quiet and secluded place. Regular practice of trataka strengthens the eye muscles, accelerates vision and increases concentration. According to experts, this technique also helps in reducing eye fatigue. After doing this, one should close the eyes and rest for a few minutes, so that the eyes can get full benefit. This technique is beneficial not only for physical, but also mental health.

Bhastrika Pranayama: According to the Ministry of AYUSH, Bhastrika Pranayama is very beneficial for the eyes. This pranayama involves the process of sharp and deep breathing, which increases the supply of oxygen in the body. This causes more oxygen to the eyes, which clears the vision and reduces fatigue. Bhastrika brings freshness to the head and eyes, which helps in increasing eyesight.

Palming: Palming is a simple but effective eye exercise, which is effective in reducing eye stress, irritation and fatigue. To do this, first rub your palms together, until they are hot. Next, close the eyes and keep the warm palms on the eyes slowly without pressure. This process provides relief to the eye muscles and improves blood circulation. Palming is the best way to refresh the eyes and relieve stress. This can be done several times a day, especially after screen time.

Bhramari Pranayama: The Ministry of AYUSH considers Bhramari Pranayama an effective technique to calm the mind and nervous system. In this pranayama, a deep breath is taken with a sound -like voice, which produces vibration. This vibration relaxes the nerves, reduces stress, and helps to relieve eye fatigue. Bhramari Pranayama is also helpful in increasing concentration and improving visual clarity. It should be done in a calm environment in the morning or evening.

Rotate the eyes: Rotten or rotating the eyes provides relief to the eye muscles. To do this, clockwise and rotate your eyes slowly in the anti-clockwise direction. This exercise relaxes the muscles of the eye, maintains moisture and reduces the problem of cornea and retina pain. It is enough to do it for a few minutes in the morning. This exercise provides immediate relief to the eyes after screen time.
