New Delhi, June 2 (IANS). The Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India advises to include yoga in the daily routine. According to the Ministry, in today’s fast-paced life, our brain is continuously processing more information than it can think, which results in stress on the body, muscle stiffness and fatigue.
The ministry says that to prevent stress from accumulating in the neck, shoulders and back, one should first stop for a few minutes, take deep breaths and reset oneself. The ministry has recommended adopting gentle yoga movements that are effective in reducing physical stress, increasing body mobility and bringing attention to the present moment.
Simple movements suggested by the Ministry of AYUSH include trunk twisting, knee movement, shoulder movement and neck movement. All these movements can be done easily anywhere without any equipment. These easy exercises not only reduce physical fatigue but also keep the mind calm. Incorporate these simple movements into your everyday routine. Regular exercise increases energy, reduces stress and improves health.
Trunk Twisting:- This movement of rotating the waist left and right removes the stiffness of the back and waist. This makes the spine flexible and digestion also improves.
Knee Movement:- Lightly rotating the knees or moving them up and down reduces the stiffness of the legs and knees. It is very useful for people who sit for long periods of time.
Shoulder Movement:- This exercise done by moving the shoulders back and forth and rotating them immediately reduces the tension in the shoulders and upper neck.
Neck Movement:- Slowly rotating the neck left-right, up-down provides relief from neck pain caused by spending too much time in front of the screen.
