New Delhi, April 21 (IANS). Nowadays, everyone talks about vitamins and proteins and takes the help of supplements to maintain their levels in the body.
Apart from vitamins and proteins, our body needs many minerals and nutrients which silently maintain the energy of the body, like zinc. Zinc is considered important for the body in both Ayurveda and science; It is considered the ‘repair manager’ of the body, which works from balancing hormones to activating enzymes in the body.
Due to the deficiency of zinc which works secretly in the body, the body becomes very weak. This deficiency causes fatigue, frequent fever, delayed wound healing, loss of appetite, rapid hair fall and unnecessary mental fatigue. Due to this, immunity is badly affected because zinc is the main basis of our body’s immune system. It activates white blood cells and gives strength to fight external infections.
At the same time, zinc also plays an important role in the development of children. Zinc is very essential for the physical and mental development of children. It not only strengthens the bones but also strengthens the functioning of the brain. Along with this, zinc also cures delayed healing of wounds, frequent cold and cough and loss of appetite. It plays an important role in the formation of skin cells and tissues.
Zinc is available in good quantity in non-vegetarian food. It is found in good quantity in eggs, fish, chicken and prawns. Whereas, if you are a vegetarian then zinc is found in banana, spinach, pumpkin seeds, almonds, walnuts, sesame, broccoli and milk-curd. Now the question is how much zinc is necessary for the body.
For adult men, 11 mg of zinc is required daily, while for women its quantity has been fixed at 8 mg. At the same time, 12 mg and 13 mg zinc is necessary for pregnant and lactating women.
