New Delhi. Taking action in the suicide case of Haryana IPS officer Y Puran Kumar, the state government has sent DGP Shatrujit Kapoor on long leave. In his place, senior IPS OP Singh has been given the responsibility as the acting DGP of the state. Earlier, Rohtak SP Narendra Bijarnia was also transferred. In his suicide note, Y Puran Kumar had accused 14 officers including DGP Shatrujit Kapoor, IPS Narendra Bijarnia of caste discrimination and harassment. FIR has already been registered against the accused officers in this case.

Haryana’s new acting DGP Om Prakash Singh is a 1992 batch IPS and is currently working as the Managing Director of Police Housing Corporation. The victim’s family members say that they will not allow the post-mortem to be conducted unless their demands are met. On the other hand, Chandigarh Police has sent a notice to IAS Amneet Kumar asking for her husband’s laptop so that it can be sent to CFSL Lab to investigate to whom and at what time Puran Kumar had mailed the suicide note to whom before committing suicide. On the other hand, the Haryana government and administrative staff are continuously trying to convince Amneet Kumar to allow her husband’s body to be cremated so that his last rites can be performed. Let us tell you that 2001 batch Haryana cadre IPS officer Y Puran Kumar had committed suicide by shooting himself in the basement of his house in Sector-11, Chandigarh on October 7.
