Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, with the inclusion of Diwali in UNESCO’s intangible heritage list, the global popularity of this festival will increase even further. May the ideals of Lord Shri Ram guide us forever. Let us tell you that UNESCO’s invaluable cultural heritage includes those traditions, performing arts, social practices, rituals, festivals, traditional knowledge and skills that are part of the cultural identity of any communities. India’s Foreign Minister Dr. S. at the UNESCO meeting held in Delhi. Inaugurating the session, Jaishankar described traditions, languages, music, crafts and other intangible heritage as the most democratic expression of culture. He said that this is a heritage that belongs to everyone, which has been preserved by many generations and each new generation makes it richer than the previous one. Jaishankar said, recognition of intangible heritage not only brings cultural pride, but it also plays a big role in people’s livelihood and local economy.
