After a heart-wrenching road accident in Dubai’s Arjan area in early January, a good news has emerged. Aastha Kanwar, a 30-year-old Indian media professional who was the victim of a hit-and-run, has given birth to a healthy baby girl. Despite serious injuries and multiple fractures, Aastha welcomed her daughter on February 10 at NMC Royal Hospital. This girl has been named Triambika and the family is considering it a miracle.
Mother and daughter returned home from hospital
According to reports, Aastha gave birth to a baby girl weighing 2.4 kg on 10 February 2026. When the accident occurred, she was only 33 weeks pregnant. Due to the strict monitoring of doctors and the courage of Aastha, the pregnancy was carried to 38 weeks. Both mother and daughter have been discharged from the hospital on 12 February.
Dr. Manjula Reddy of NMC Royal Hospital said that this delivery was very risky. Aastha had to undergo a C-section due to her orthopedic injuries. Doctors have praised the stamina of Aastha, who did not give up despite so much pain. Husband Ojasvi Gautam has also expressed his gratitude to the medical staff.
The pain of the accident and the treatment still going on
Even though Aastha has come home, her treatment is not over yet. Doctors recently discovered two more fractures in his hip, which had previously gone undetected due to serious injuries. He still has serious injuries on his jaw and many parts of his body, due to which he is having a lot of trouble in walking.
This accident happened on January 7 at around 11:30 pm. A car came from the wrong direction on a one-way road and hit Aastha and Ojasvi who were walking. Instead of stopping the car, the driver backed up and ran away after hitting the car again. In this accident, Astha’s liver and spleen had to be removed and her skull was also injured.
Spending lakhs and helping people
According to initial information, the cost of treatment was expected to exceed 1 million dirhams (AED 1 million). The family’s insurance cover soon began to expire, leading to a financial crisis. This case united the people of Dubai and the community extended a helping hand.
Dubai Police is investigating this hit-and-run case. Husband Ojasvi Gautam said that that night he felt that he had lost his family. Now with the arrival of the daughter, a new ray of hope has arisen in the family, although it will take time for complete recovery.
