The family of a 47 -year -old worker contractor, missing in Gurugram, Haryana, identified the ‘Sirkati corpse’ by mistake and cremated him, but the next day he returned home. The police gave this information on Saturday.
Police said that the DNA samples of the body have been kept safe and they will be used to identify the person who was cremated by the family. In this connection, a case of murder has been registered at Sector-37 police station of Gurugram.
According to the police, a labor contractor named Poojan Prasad lives here in Mohammadpur Jhadsa village with his wife and three sons. The worship did not return home for a week, after which his son Sandeep Kumar filed a missing complaint on 1 September.
A senior police investigating officer said that the confusion started on August 28 when the police recovered a head-cut corpse near a vacant warehouse in Sector-37 police station area.
He said that when Sandeep contacted the police about his missing father, the police told him about the dead body. Sandeep and other family members reached the mortuary, where Sandeep identified the body with a bruise on the right leg.
The official said, “The deceased was wearing a shirt and trousers like worship and Sandeep told the police that it is the body of his father and he also informed his family.” His family was convinced that Poojan had died and after identifying the body, he was cremated at Ram Bagh crematorium on Pataudi Road on Tuesday. The sons of the worship cremated the dead body. ”
However, on Wednesday, when the son of Poojan was going to immerse the bones in Yamuna, he received a call from his maternal uncle Rahul Prasad that he had seen Pujan at Khandsa Chowk.
Rahul took Poojan to his house in auto and informed the family members. When Sandeep and his elder brother Aman returned, he found his father sitting at home.
Not only was his family shocked by the sudden arrival of worship, but also a big question arose in front of the investigators about the identity of the person, which was cremated.
Inspector Shahid Ahmed, in-charge of Sector-37 police station, said, “This was the human mistake of the family of the missing person, but we are trying to identify the person who has been cremated.” According to the procedure, the DNA samples of the body are kept safe which will be used to identify the deceased. A detailed investigation into the matter is going on and we hope that the picture will be clear soon. ,
