Due to drinking of contaminated water, an outbreak of vomiting and diarrhea has spread in Bhagirathpura area, due to which many lives are in danger. This disease suddenly spreading in a dense colony of the city has raised questions on the arrangements of the administration, while both anger and fear of losing their family members are being seen among the local people.
Local residents claimed the death of eight people due to contaminated water, while the administration officially confirmed the death of only three patients.
The local people of the incident site i.e. Bhagirathpura area have claimed that the situation has worsened in the last one week due to the consumption of dirty water coming in the taps. According to residents, a total of eight people, including six women, have lost their lives so far due to vomiting and diarrhea. However, there is a contradiction between the administration and the public regarding the death toll. Health department officials have currently accepted that Nandlal Pal (70), Urmila Yadav (60) and Tara Kori (65) died due to diarrhea. The administration has started survey and investigation work in the area.
Expressing deep grief over the incident, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh each to the families of the deceased and free treatment to the patients.
