New Delhi. Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court has postponed till December 4 the decision on framing of charges against former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav and other members of his family in the Land for Job scam case. This is a big relief for the Lalu family at the moment amid the assembly elections in Bihar. CBI had registered a case against former Union Railway Minister Lalu Yadav in this matter. After this, ED also got involved in the investigation of money laundering case related to this case. Apart from Lalu Yadav, many others including wife and former Bihar CM Rabri Devi, his two sons Tejashwi and Tej Pratap, daughters Misa Bharti and Hema Yadav have been made accused in this scam.
In Rouse Avenue Court today, arguments were presented by the CBI lawyer regarding framing of charges against Lalu and his family. At the same time, senior advocates who appeared in the court on behalf of Lalu family demanded discharge of their clients from the case. After hearing the arguments of both the parties, the special judge reserved his decision till December 4. Now the decision of the case will come only in the next hearing to be held on 4th December. Earlier, Lalu Yadav had asked the Supreme Court to stay the trial court proceedings, but the Supreme Court had rejected his petition in July.
It is alleged that during the first term of the UPA government, when Lalu Yadav was the Union Railway Minister between 2004 and 2009, his land was taken at a very cheap price in exchange for a job in Group D recruitment in the Railways. The lands were transferred to two companies named AB Exports and AK Infosystems, later this company was transferred to the names of Lalu Yadav’s family members.
