New Delhi. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has written a letter to Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar demanding to stop the process of Special Intensive Scrutiny (SIR) campaign of voter list in the state. Mamata Banerjee has said that the SIR process is being carried out forcibly without any preparation, due to which the situation has become very bad, due to which the lives of citizens and officials are at risk, hence this process should be stopped. Whereas BJP has targeted Mamata Banerjee. Union Minister of State and former BJP state president Sukant Majumdar said that the ‘failed’ Chief Minister of West Bengal has repeatedly challenged a constitutional institution.

Majumdar alleged that the Chief Minister has openly ignored constitutional rules and has issued continuous threats and warnings to the Election Commission and its officials. But all this threat and pressure has yielded no results. Despite all the drama, threats and madness of Trinamool Congress and Mamata Banerjee, the SIR process is progressing within the constitutional ambit and will be completed. He said that in the last few days the restlessness and frustration of the Chief Minister has reached its peak. The reason is clearly visible, illegal Bangladeshi infiltrators, those who are living quietly in different parts of West Bengal under the protection of Trinamool Congress, are now waiting for the borders to open due to the fear of SIR. These scenes are one of the main reasons for the Chief Minister’s nervousness and uneasiness. Perhaps that is why now she is strongly demanding to stop the SIR process.

The BJP leader said that I have only one question for the Chief Minister, have you been winning till now with the votes of these illegal infiltrators? Please immediately clarify this matter publicly. Despite threats, warnings, lies and countless hooliganism from the Trinamool Congress, the Election Commission of India is efficiently implementing the SIR process in West Bengal. If the Chief Minister, as the administrative head, cannot accept this reality then he should resign immediately. BJP woman leader Agnimitra Paul said that the problem with Mamata Banerjee lies somewhere else because her vote bank was these Bangladeshi Muslims, these Rohingyas, these Pakistanis and now with SIR they are leaving West Bengal.
