The film is based on the 1980s Mumbai underworld, inspired by Hussain Ustara (Real Gangster). Shahid Kapoor plays Haseen Ustara – a dreaded hitman whose love story is all about violence and revenge. Deepika-Irrfan starrer ‘Sapna Didi’ is a remake of the shelved biopic, but the focus shifts to Hitman. The teaser showed the gritty look of the Shakespearean crime saga, where love, betrayal and the rise of the underworld were shown.
