A major security incident has come to light in Musandam Governorate of Oman. Maritime Security Center (MSC) has said that an oil tanker ‘SKYLIGHT’ was targeted near Khasab Port. It is a matter of relief that all the 20 crew members on board the ship have been evacuated safely. These included 15 Indian citizens. Four people have been injured in the attack, who are undergoing treatment in the hospital.

Information about accident and rescue operation
This incident happened on March 1, 2026 at around 12:40 pm. The ship was flying the flag of the Republic of Palau and was just 5 nautical miles from Khasab Port when it was targeted. The Royal Navy of Oman and other security agencies immediately launched a rescue operation and evacuated all the people from there.
