There was a lot of uproar in the monsoon session of Parliament, which ran between July 21 and August 21, due to the SIR campaign in Bihar and allegations of vote theft by Congress. There was a long discussion on Operation Sindoor in both the Houses and during that time too there was uproar. The proceedings of both the houses of Parliament, Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha, were disrupted for most of the time. Due to this, many bills which were to be passed in the monsoon session could not be discussed. Although in the all-party meeting before the monsoon session, the opposition parties including Congress had talked about allowing the House to function smoothly, but the uproar that started from the first day continued till the last day.

Apart from this, on the very first day of the monsoon session, Vice President and then Chairman of Rajya Sabha Jagdeep Dhankhar had suddenly resigned from his post. After resigning, Dhankhar went into seclusion and the opposition had made a lot of issue regarding this also. The opposition also repeatedly demanded clarification from the government in this regard. The opposition said that the government had forced Dhankhar’s resignation under pressure. However, Dhankhar had cited health reasons behind his resignation.
