New Delhi. ASI survey of Bhojshala located in Dhar, Madhya Pradesh is going on. For the last several days, ASI has been doing survey work in Bhojshala. Now the Muslim side has reached the Supreme Court to stop the ASI survey of Bhojshala. The petition filed by the Muslim side to stop the ASI survey of Bhojshala is to be heard in the Supreme Court on Monday i.e. 1st April.
Madhya Pradesh High Court had ordered the ASI survey of Bhojshala. Through this ASI survey, it will be found out to what extent the description of this temple by the Hindu side is correct. Regarding Bhojshala, the Hindu side claims that this temple was built for Goddess Saraswati at the time of Raja Bhoj. The Hindu side claims that the idol of Goddess Saraswati which was in Bhojshala is now kept in the Museum of London. The Hindu side also claims that later Muslims started claiming Bhojshala as their religious place. To investigate these claims of the Hindu side, the Madhya Pradesh High Court has ordered an ASI survey of Bhojshala.
Muslims also call Bhojshala as Kamal Maula Masjid. There is also a Dargah outside the ancient premises of Bhojshala. Here both Hindu and Muslim parties have been getting permission for worship and namaz for a long time. Every Tuesday, people from the Hindu side can worship in the Bhojshala from morning to evening. Whereas, every Friday, Muslims are allowed to offer Namaz in Bhojshala. The Muslim side says that the Hindu side’s plea regarding Bhojshala is not maintainable under the Places of Worship Act 1991. The government website of Dhar district says that Bhojshala was converted into a mosque by the Muslim ruler here in the 14th century. According to the website, King Bhoj of Parmar dynasty had prepared Bhojshala as an educational institution.
