Janata Dal (United) chief Nitish Kumar on Thursday said he will take oath at the historic Gandhi Maidan in Patna, and promised that “Bihar will start a new journey of development”.
Sharing a post on Twitter, Kumar said, “I, Nitish Kumar, swear by God, this sentence is a symbol of the unwavering faith and confidence of crores of Biharians. Today, this voice will once again echo from the historic Gandhi Maidan in Patna and Bihar will set out on a new journey of development.”
On this occasion, he extended hearty congratulations and best wishes to all the people of Bihar. The post reads, “Hearty congratulations and best wishes to all the people of Bihar on this historic swearing-in occasion.”
Janata Dal (United) shared a post on Twitter earlier in the day saying that today “history is going to be made in Bihar” and “this moment will be a moment of pride for all Biharis”.
The post further reads, “History is about to be created in Bihar. Honorable Nitish Kumar ji, the symbol of development and faith of Bihar, will take oath as the Chief Minister. Bihar will write another new chapter of development; this moment will be a moment of pride for all the people of Bihar. Let us all be witnesses of this historic moment.”
The swearing-in ceremony will be held in the heart of Patna today, attended by all senior NDA political leaders, party workers and citizens, marking the beginning of the government’s renewed focus on progress and governance in Bihar.
Several leaders, including Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, arrived at the Patna airport to attend the swearing-in ceremony of the NDA government in the state.
Janata Dal (United) chief Nitish Kumar will take oath as the Chief Minister of Bihar for the record 10th time today.
Patna’s historic Gandhi Maidan, where his swearing-in ceremonies were held in 2005, 2010 and 2015. It was on this ground that Jayaprakash Narayan had called for “total revolution” in his speech in 1974.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and other key NDA leaders are expected to attend the swearing-in ceremony. The Prime Minister did not participate in the swearing-in ceremony last year.
Various chief ministers of NDA ruled states are also expected to attend the swearing-in ceremony.
