Kolkata, May 28 (IANS). West Bengal Minister Dilip Ghosh fiercely attacked the former state government amid Eid celebrations. He reacted to the FIR against Mamata Banerjee and her leaders in Siliguri, Suvendu Adhikari’s remarks on Bangladesh and the case of 30 lakh suspicious names in the Lakshmi Bhandar scheme.

Speaking to reporters, Dilip Ghosh said, “Earlier, illegal infiltrators in the state were given government facilities and citizenship certificates, but now the situation is changing due to the strict policy of the BJP government. Earlier, infiltrators were brought here and given various government facilities, but the policy of our government is clear that no foreign national living illegally will be allowed to get such benefits or stay here. Even without any major action, this strict stance has made the message clear. According to reports, thousands of people Preparing to return to Bangladesh.”

When asked about the FIR lodged in Siliguri against Mamata Banerjee and her ministers, Dilip Ghosh said that many more FIRs should be lodged. He said, “Many FIRs are going to be filed against Mamata Banerjee, her ministers and leaders. Given the way comments were made against the Hindu religion, the country, the Constitution, our national leaders, the President and the Prime Minister, many complaints should come from the public. All limits have been crossed.”

Regarding Eid celebration, he said that festivals of different religions are celebrated continuously, but any decision should not cause inconvenience to the general public. Dilip Ghosh also targeted the state government on the allegation of 30 lakh suspicious names in Laxmi Bhandar Scheme. He termed it as part of a large-scale scam and said that the scheme was misused to benefit illegal infiltrators and fake beneficiaries.

The BJP leader accused the Mamata Banerjee government of giving political protection to infiltrators coming from Bangladesh and said that after the formation of the BJP government, illegal infiltration in the state is being controlled and action is being taken by identifying the foreigners living illegally.
