Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is all set to elect its new national president today. The nomination process is going on at the party headquarters in Delhi. In this organization festival, Chief Ministers, state unit heads and senior leaders of BJP ruled states will gather in the capital for a show of strength.
The nomination process will take place between 2 pm to 4 pm, after which the scrutiny of nomination papers will be held from 4 pm to 5 pm. Candidates will have the option to withdraw their nominations between 5 pm and 6 pm, and the National Election Officer will issue a press release at 6:30 pm.
BJP National Working President Nitin Nabin is all set to file his nomination for the top post today.
With the support of top leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, Nitin Nabin is expected to be elected unopposed as the party’s 12th national president, making him the youngest to hold the post.
The electoral college consisting of representatives of the party’s National Council and State Councils will make the final decision on the new president.
According to the BJP constitution, a candidate’s name must be jointly proposed by at least 20 members of the state’s electoral college and must have a minimum membership of 15 years.
If everything goes as per plan, BJP will announce its new national president on January 20, 2026. The event is being considered an important milestone in the party’s history, and it is expected that Nabin’s election will bring a wave of new energy and unity in the party.
The current age of Nitin Nabin is 45 years. He was appointed the national working president on December 14, 2025. Now, the party is likely to make him the national president. If this happens, he will be the youngest person ever to hold this post.
