Mumbai, April 6 (IANS). Bharatiya Janata Party is celebrating its 47th foundation day today. In this series, Maharashtra BJP President Ravindra Chavan hoisted the flag at the Mumbai headquarters and congratulated the party workers on the Foundation Day.
On this occasion, BJP State Vice President Keshav Upadhyay said while talking to IANS, “Today is the foundation day of the Bharatiya Janata Party. This is an important day not only for the BJP but for the whole of India, because a new chapter was added in the politics of this country. Since then, the BJP has been doing politics on the issues of democracy and development. At the time of the establishment of the party in 1980, the former Prime Minister had said, ‘Darkness will end, the sun will rise and the lotus will bloom’, today it is proving to be true. Development is taking place in the country and Maharashtra under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi government at the Center and Devendra Fadnavis in the state.
Keshav Upadhyay said, “Bharatiya Janata Party will celebrate the Foundation Day as a festival for a week in Maharashtra, for which we have organized various programs. The party office has been beautifully decorated. The flag has been hoisted. The flag will be hoisted at every booth in Maharashtra. Bharatiya Janata Party workers will hoist the BJP flag in their homes.”
Ajit Pawar’s wife and Maharashtra Deputy CM Sunetra Pawar will file her nomination papers today on the ticket of Nationalist Congress Party (Ajit Pawar) in the by-election on Baramati Assembly seat of Maharashtra, which became vacant due to the death of Ajit Pawar. At the same time, Congress has also made Advocate Akash Vijayrao Mere its candidate from this seat.
On Congress fielding its candidate from Baramati, Keshav Upadhyay said, “I think this is the reason why Congress has gone out of people’s mind. Congress does not know what the public wants. After the death of Ajit Dada, all the people of Baramati wanted Sunetra Pawar to be elected unopposed. Sunetra Pawar is going to file nomination papers today, but the way Congress has declared its candidate, it is clear that Congress has nothing to do with the public sentiments. The security deposit from this seat will be forfeited.”
