Lucknow, July 27 (IANS). Shia religious leader Syed Saif Abbas Naqvi reacted to the debate on Vande Mataram Bill and PM Modi’s Tricolor appeal for every house. Along with this, he has commented on the statement of Kali Sena chief Swami Anand Swaroop Maharaj, in which he had appealed to Kanwariyas not to buy goods from non-Hindu traders.

Speaking to IANS on the proposed debate on the ‘Vande Mataram’ bill in the Rajya Sabha, Saif Abbas Naqvi said, “I don’t think there is a need for any law on this. Every citizen knows his duty towards the country. Instead, there is a need to stop paper leaks. The government wants to discuss such a bill to divert attention from public issues. Only the students’ issue should be raised in the monsoon session, but the government is bringing such cases to suppress issues like unemployment.”

On Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal in the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program to promote the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, Shia religious leader Syed Saif Abbas Naqvi says, “No one can match the example of former President and ‘Missile Man’ Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. His service to the country was exemplary. He went to Rashtrapati Bhavan with just a suitcase and some books and came out from there with the same simplicity. As for the ‘Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, people who have not hoisted the tricolor in their offices are talking about it. The tricolor resides in the heart of every Indian and they know how to respect it. I believe that the Prime Minister should have talked more about the issues of the students in ‘Mann Ki Baat’, which would have been more meaningful.”

On Kali Sena chief Swami Anand Swaroop Maharaj’s appeal to Kanwariyas not to buy goods from non-Hindu traders, Saif Abbas Naqvi said, “I want to tell them that now they should walk on foot, because oil and gas is coming from Muslim countries. I think the statements of these people should be condemned. Such people give such absurd statements to gain fame and mislead the people of the country. Devotees join the Kanwar Yatra in good spirit, he Anand Would not agree with Swaroop’s statements.”
