Vidisha, May 16 (IANS). National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) member Priyank Kanungo said in a press conference in Vidisha on Saturday that India has entered a new era of cultural revival. Referring to the recent decision of the High Court in the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya and the Bhojshala case, he said that the country is reconnecting with its ancient heritage.
Priyank Kanungo said, “We are the people of that fortunate generation who are witnessing the cultural revival of India with their own eyes. After 500 years of struggle, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, these dreams are coming true. The verdict in the Bhojshala case has raised new hopes in Madhya Pradesh. Now there is great hope among the people regarding the historic Vijay Mandir of Vidisha too.”
Priyank Kanungo also expressed serious concern over the case of alleged corruption and fraud in Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government Medical College, Vidisha. NHRC has taken cognizance of this matter on the complaint of social activist Nitin Chaurasia.
He said, “We had received a complaint that the medical college does not have the required number of security personnel and support staff. There are many names in the registers, but the actual staff is very less. Salaries are being paid to around 600 outsourced employees, while only 400 are actually working. There are also allegations of fake documents and irregular appointments.”
He said that NHRC has issued notice to Vidisha District Magistrate and Labor Commissioner in this matter and has sought action taken report within 15 days. Kanungo said that this issue is related to the human rights of patients, hence the Commission is taking it very seriously.
Priyank Kanungo said that the country is again realizing the glory of its glorious past. The development work being done at Ram Mandir, Bhojshala and other historical places is an important step in this direction. He expressed hope that the Vijay Mandir of Vidisha will also regain its dignity soon.
