Bengaluru, December 13 (IANS). Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister and State Congress President DK Shivakumar reached Delhi on Saturday, December 14 to take part in the ‘vote theft’ protest to be held at Ramlila Maidan.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is also going to reach Delhi on Sunday to join this protest.

Talking about the issue of ‘vote theft’, Shivakumar alleged that names of minority voters have been removed from the voter lists across the country.

He said that our leader, Rahul Gandhi, has raised this issue. He did not answer our questions. Instead, they are asking us to provide information. Information is not being given under the Right to Information Act (RTI). I had also asked for information, but it was not given.

On the question of meeting Sonia Gandhi after the protests in Delhi, he said that I have a problem. Delhi Police has asked me to give information about donations in the National Herald case. I have asked my lawyer to meet me. I will take legal advice and also talk to others before appearing before Delhi Police. When I decide on this, I will tell the media.

He further said that police officials of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) wrote 18 letters seeking data, but received no response. Shivakumar alleged that now the report has come out. This problem is not limited to Karnataka alone; This has also happened in Bihar, Maharashtra and other states.

He also said that a special train to bring party workers from Bengaluru to Delhi was canceled at the last moment.

Party sources said that the high command, concerned about the recent developments in Karnataka, may try to informally resolve the leadership tussle between the two leaders. After the defeat in Bihar assembly elections, the high command does not want infighting to become a threat to the government.

After joining the protests, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will return to Karnataka on Sunday evening, while Deputy CM Shivakumar will stay back there and return to Bengaluru on Monday evening (December 15). Both leaders have said that they are meeting national leaders, although not specifically on the issue of leadership.
