The post reads that Thursday was the much-awaited election day. The people of Bangladesh were finally able to exercise their democratic rights. With overwhelming public support, BNP won a decisive victory.

BNP President Tariq Rahman is likely to take oath as the Prime Minister of Bangladesh on Saturday, marking the return of a male Prime Minister to Bangladesh after nearly 35 years. Tariq Rehman took over the leadership of BNP after the death of his mother, former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia, last December. Tariq is also the son of BNP founder former President Ziaur Rahman.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday spoke to Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) President Tariq Rahman over phone and congratulated him on his party’s victory in the Bangladesh elections.
