Bhubaneswar, July 26 (IANS). Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Sunday welcomed the high-level task force constituted on examination reforms. He said that this historic initiative will pave the way for a more transparent, secure and future-ready education system in line with the vision of ‘Developed India’.
In a post shared on social media platform X, the Chief Minister said that the future of India’s students has been the topmost priority of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Majhi said that the formation of the high-level task force on examination reforms under the leadership of Nandan Nilekani reflects his unwavering commitment towards protecting merit, fairness and excellence in our examination system.
Describing the Prime Minister’s announcement as a historic step, Chief Minister Manjhi further said that this historic initiative will strengthen the confidence of millions of students and pave the way for a more transparent, secure and future-ready education system, thereby taking forward the vision of a developed India.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday announced the formation of a task force on examination reforms under the chairmanship of Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani. The Prime Minister said in a video message that the report of the task force will be used to take steps to ensure the credibility of the upcoming examinations.
The decision to include Aadhaar number architect Nandan Nilekani in the task force comes a day after the students’ agitation against the alleged paper leak ended following the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
According to the official statement, apart from technology expert Nandan Nilekani, this task force includes former ISRO chairman S. Somnath, former Director of Information and Communications Technology Tapan Deka, IIT Chennai Director V. Kamakoti, former Education Secretary Anita Karwal and logistics expert Amrit Lal Meena.
Prime Minister Modi said that this task force will focus on examination reforms and based on its report, steps will be taken at the earliest to ensure the credibility of the upcoming examinations.
