On the occasion of Army Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday lauded the Indian Army, saying they are the epitome of selfless service, which protects the country with determination even in the most challenging circumstances.
The Prime Minister also said that the nation salutes their courage and strong commitment.
“Our soldiers are symbols of selfless service, protecting the nation with determination even in the most challenging circumstances. Their sense of duty inspires a sense of trust and gratitude across the nation,” he said in a post on Twitter.
He said that the country remembers with deep respect those who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.
President Draupadi Murmu also congratulated the country’s brave soldiers, ex-servicemen and their families on the occasion of Army Day and said that their unwavering ‘nation paramount’ spirit continues to inspire every Indian.
“The Indian Army is determined to protect the unity, sovereignty and integrity of our nation,” Murmu said in a post on Twitter.
He said, “Our soldiers guard our borders and provide vital assistance during disasters and humanitarian crises. Your unwavering spirit of nation paramount continues to inspire every Indian.”
Army Day is celebrated on 15 January, which is dedicated to Field Marshal K.M. Cariappa takes charge as the first Indian Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army. He succeeded his British predecessor, General Sir F.R.R., in 1949. Took place of Butcher.
