Saharsa, November 13 (IANS). Saharsa Police Administration is completely alert regarding the counting of votes in Bihar Assembly elections. An important meeting was organized at Saharsa Sadar police station premises at 8:30 pm on Thursday night with the aim of ensuring peace and law and order in the city during the counting of votes on Friday.
Ward councilors of the city, representatives of various political parties and local public representatives actively participated in this meeting organized under the chairmanship of Police Station President cum Inspector Subodh Kumar. This meeting was focused on avoiding any untoward situation on the day of counting and maintaining calm atmosphere with mutual cooperation.
Police station chief Subodh Kumar appealed to all the public representatives present to cooperate with the police administration in maintaining peace on the day of counting.
He said that they should make people aware in their respective wards and localities that they should not create unnecessary crowd on the roads without any concrete reason. Along with this, in view of security, adequate number of police forces, paramilitary forces and magistrates will be deployed at all the major intersections of the city.
The police station chief gave a clear warning that if any person tries to create ruckus or create disturbance, strict legal action will be taken against him. Youngsters in particular were advised to avoid becoming part of unnecessary crowds.
The police administration has already taken out a flag march to make people aware about maintaining peace and order. On the day of counting, special surveillance will be kept on vehicles entering the city, especially buses coming from rural areas, so that security is not breached.
Apart from this, the police station chief also warned people about the misuse of social media. Besides, strict action will be taken under legal provisions against those who spoil the atmosphere by posting provocative or misleading posts.
Saharsa Police has made it clear that no one will be allowed to play with law and order on the day of counting. The administration will monitor the situation with full strictness and vigilance so that an atmosphere of peace and harmony is maintained in Saharsa city.
