Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut said on Saturday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should announce assistance for the farmers who have suffered losses from the recent floods during the visit to Mumbai. Raut while talking to reporters, Raut said that the central government should have declared a relief package for the farmers.
Fadnavis said earlier this week that as per the initial estimate, rains and floods in Maharashtra have damaged 60 lakh hectares of land and the government has decided to benefit the affected people from all the benefits and measures to be commonly provided during the drought.
However, he did not declare ‘Ola Dachal’ (VAT Drout) as per the demand of the opposition and said that there is no such provision in the official rules.
In Marathi, the ‘Ola Radakal’ is the situation in which a particular area receives continuous or excessive rainfall for some time, resulting in crops destroyed and floods cause loss of life and property.
Raut said, ‘Relief package for farmers should have been announced from Delhi. The Prime Minister should announce assistance for flood affected farmers during the visit to Mumbai.
During this, Sanjay Raut also criticized Shiv Sena leader Ramdas Kadam, who claimed about the delay in the announcement of the death of party founder Bal Thackeray in 2012.
Kadam on Thursday claimed that his body was kept at his home in Mumbai for two days before the announcement of Bal Thackeray’s death in 2012. He also alleged that after the death of the party founder, his fingers were taken.
Raut said, ‘I was present in the last moments of Balasaheb. The claim of Kadam is an example of how much a person can fall down for the post and money. Those who have left the party can never be loyal to Balasaheb or cannot consider them as their guide.
