Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Thursday and came to know about his health. He also wished him a quick recovery.
PM Modi said in a post on his X, “Talked to Kharge ji. Took information about his health and wished him to be healthy. I pray for his constant prosperity and longevity.”
His son and IT minister of Karnataka, Priyank Kharge, said that the condition of Kharge, who was recently imposed pacemaker, has been stated to be stable and he is expected to resume the official functioning from October 3.
Priyank Kharge said in a post shared on X, “The pacemaker transplant process for Mr. Kharge was successfully completed today. It was a small and minor process and his condition is stable after the procedure. Hopefully he will resume his work from October 3 and will join all his scheduled programs. We are grateful for all the concerns, support and affection.”
A day earlier, Mallikarjun Kharge, president of the All India Congress Committee (AICC), was admitted to a hospital in Bengaluru for medical treatment.
Meanwhile, Kharge will visit Kohima on 7 October and address a public meeting at Naga Solidarity Park. Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee President and Lok Sabha MP S Supangmerran Jamir made this announcement during a press conference at Congress Bhavan in Kohima.
According to Jamir, the Congress expects at least 10,000 people to gather in this rally. The program based on the theme, “Safe democracy, safe secularism and safe Nagaland”, will also highlight major issues such as youth employment, entrepreneurship, good governance and road connectivity.
The statement said that after the rally, there will be separate meetings between Kharge and Congress Political Affairs Committee, Preventive Committee and Chairman of District Congress Committees (DCC).
The Congress MP emphasized that this rally is not just a party program. It is not only a political platform to solve the challenges faced by Nagaland and the Northeast.
He appealed to the citizens, especially minorities to join the rally and give voice to their concerns, and said that the regional leaders would carry forward the issue.
