Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing attack on the Modi government in Colombia. Addressing engineering students at EIA University in Columbia, Rahul Gandhi said that attack on democracy is the biggest threat to India. He said that there are many religions, traditions and languages in India. A democratic system provides space for all.

However, the present democratic system is falling victim to attack from all sides. Regarding India’s growing relevance in the global scenario, Rahul Gandhi said that India has immense capabilities with 1.4 billion people. However, India’s system is completely different from China, because there are various languages, cultures, traditions and religions here. Therefore, India’s system is more complex.

India can give a lot to the world – Rahul
Rahul Gandhi said that India can give a lot to the world. However, there are some flaws and risks in the Indian structure that India will have to overcome. The biggest risk is an attack on democracy. He said that democracy requires adjustments for various traditions, religions and ideas. But at this time there are serious attacks on democratic system in India.

He said, “We cannot do like China: suppressing people and running a dictatorial system. Our structure will not accept it.” He said, “India is a neighbor of China and a major partner of the United States. We are sitting at the right point where these two powers are colliding with each other.” He said, “India has immense capabilities. It has more population than China.”

“India cannot suppress its people like China”

India’s system is very complex. Its forces are different from China. There is also an ancient spiritual and ideological tradition of India which is very useful for today’s world. He also said, “India cannot suppress its people like China. We cannot run dictatorship system.” Speaking about the United States, Rahul said, “President Trump’s polarization campaign is mainly focused on unemployed.”
