Bhopal, November 3 (IANS). Madhya Pradesh Governor Mangubhai Patel on Monday said people should come forward to actively participate and support tuberculosis (TB) eradication programmes.
Urging the citizens to help TB patients as much as possible, Governor Patel said that the true meaning of life lies in the service of humanity and helping the suffering and the needy is a noble act, which brings divine blessings.
The Governor said this while addressing the inaugural session of the 76th TB Seal Campaign organized by Madhya Pradesh TB Association and the state government in Bhopal on Monday.
The campaign aims to make the public more aware about TB, especially through campaigns, rallies and awareness rallies, with emphasis on public participation and cooperation.
Governor Patel said that dissemination of information about TB disease is the primary requirement for its eradication. He stressed on making efforts to create public awareness about this disease in remote and deprived areas.
He said that hiding the disease would be fatal. Early diagnosis of the disease, regular intake of medicines and a nutritious diet rich in vitamins can cure even the most severe TB. The patient may become healthy.
He said that the TB-free India campaign will be successful with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guiding mantra of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas’. The country and state will become TB free.
On this occasion, Governor Patel also advised people to be health conscious and disciplined and adopt a balanced lifestyle. He said that TB patients should take their medicines on time and complete the entire course.
The Governor said that they should pay special attention to their diet, include whole grains and other nutritious foods in their diet, drink plenty of water, get good sleep and exercise regularly.
