Raipur/Bilaspur, 28 February (IANS). Chhattisgarh government has transferred more than Rs 10,324 crore directly into the accounts of farmers before Holi. This amount has been directly credited into the bank accounts of the farmers and has been released under ‘Krishak Unnati Yojana’.
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai released more than Rs 10,324 crore under the “Krishak Unnati Yojana” into the bank accounts of farmers selling paddy in the state ahead of Holi.
The Chief Minister distributed this amount in a state level program organized at Bilha in Bilaspur district. This amount was released to 25.28 lakh farmers in the “Transfer Assistance Distribution Scheme” program organized in Rahangi village of Bilha development block. Of these, Rs 494.38 crore was distributed to 1,25,352 farmers in Bilaspur district in public programs.
The Chief Minister inaugurated seven development projects worth Rs 15.99 crore and laid the foundation stone of 82 schemes worth Rs 247.18 crore to boost district level infrastructure.
The farmers present at the program welcomed the Chief Minister and other guests with traditional agricultural implements like Khumri and Nangar.
Recalling this occasion dedicated to farmers, Chief Minister Sai said that more than 25.28 lakh farmers sold paddy this season and more than Rs 10,000 crore was paid under the scheme. He said that with this amount farmers will be able to celebrate Holi with more financial security.
The Chief Minister highlighted the government’s initiatives for farmers including availability of sugarcane, timely procurement payments, zero-interest agricultural loans and wide coverage of the Kisan Credit Card Scheme. He said that the prosperity of farmers is being increased in the state through schemes like competitive paddy prices, fertilizer subsidy, expansion of irrigation facilities and strengthening of cooperative institutions.
The Chief Minister said that leftist extremism is almost coming to an end in Bastar region and the set targets will be achieved by March 2026. He also mentioned Chhattisgarh’s mineral wealth, tourism potential and the agreement with NDDB to increase animal husbandry and milk production.
He said most of the guarantees announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi have been fulfilled within two years, including housing approval under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana for 18 lakh beneficiaries.
The Chief Minister said that the Department of Good Governance and Coordination and e-office system are increasing transparency in administration and the government is committed to inclusive development.
In the program, he announced upgrading of Chakarbhata Primary Health Center to Community Health Centre, converting Mangla’s secondary school into a high school, construction of boundary wall and stage at Rahangi Sports Ground. Also announced a grant amount of Rs 50 lakh each for the construction of Satnami and Tribal Community Hall.
Describing this amount as historic, Agriculture Minister Ram Vichar Netam said that more than Rs 10,300 crore has been deposited directly into the accounts of farmers.
