Dehradun, March 20 (IANS). The swearing-in ceremony of the newly appointed cabinet ministers was organized on Friday at Lok Bhavan in Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand. Governor Gurmeet Singh and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami were present in this program held at Lok Bhavan.
Filling the five vacant posts in the cabinet of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, new ministers were sworn in. MLAs Khajan Das, Bharat Singh Chaudhary, Madan Kaushik, Ram Singh Kaida and Pradeep Batra took the oath of office and secrecy as cabinet ministers. Governor Gurmeet Singh administered the oath to everyone.
A special feature of the ceremony was that Bharat Singh Chaudhary attracted everyone’s attention by taking oath in Sanskrit language.
It is noteworthy that discussions regarding cabinet expansion were going on in the state for a long time. Several rounds of meetings and talks were going on with the central leadership regarding this. On Friday, the cabinet was expanded and all the vacant posts were filled.
Five cabinet posts were vacant for a long time in the Dhami government. One of these posts became vacant after the death of Minister Chandan Ramdas, while the other post became vacant due to the resignation of Premchand Aggarwal. Moreover, three posts were already vacant.
Many prominent leaders were also present in the swearing-in ceremony. These included cabinet ministers Saurabh Bahuguna, Bharat Chaudhary, former BJP state president Madan Kaushik, BJP state president Mahendra Bhatt, MLAs Khajan Das, Ram Singh Kaida and Pradeep Batra.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami posted on social media platform ‘X’ and congratulated and congratulated all the new cabinet ministers. He congratulated MLAs Khajan Das, Bharat Singh Chaudhary, Madan Kaushik, Ram Singh Keda and Pradeep Batra.
The Chief Minister said that the dedication, experience and leadership of all these leaders towards public service will give new momentum and direction to the development work of the state. He expressed confidence that understanding of hilly areas, organizational capacity and strength of public relations will strengthen balanced and inclusive development in the state. Also extended best wishes to everyone for successful discharge of the new responsibility and bright future.
