expressed displeasure at small place
After the Santhal Conference, the President reached Bidhannagar Ground to attend another event. Upon arriving, he expressed surprise at the size of the ground. He said that Bidhannagar ground is big enough for lakhs of people. The President further said that if the International Santhal Conference had been held on this big ground, around five lakh people could have attended. He questioned why such a small space was chosen for the conference when such a large ground was available.
President Murmu called CM Mamata Banerjee his younger sister.
During his speech, the President also mentioned Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. He said that Mamata Banerjee is like a younger sister to him and he loves her equally. He said that he does not think that Mamata is angry with him, but still does not understand why such a small place was chosen for this international conference.
The President said that it seemed their intention was to come to the small ground, attend the event and then go back. He said this while addressing people in another event after the conference. It was told that due to less space in the first event held in Phansidewa, a large number of people could not attend. After this, when the President reached Bidhannagar Ground, she said this while looking at the big ground there.
