Bihar Politics: Within the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Bihar, there is speculation that Chirag Paswan will be given preference in seat sharing. If sources are to be believed, in case of giving more seats to Chirag Paswan, the ‘price’ may have to be paid by two other prominent leaders of the alliance. According to the information received, if the number of seats is increased on the demand of Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan, then the seats of Dalit leader Jitan Ram Manjhi and OBC leader Upendra Kushwaha (Rashtriya Lok Morcha) may be reduced.
It is also being told that if there is a need to reduce the seats of smaller allies, then Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) can propose to give seats in Rajya Sabha or Legislative Council in future to satisfy these parties. After the election dates are announced, all the NDA allies want the final distribution of seats to be done as soon as possible, so that they can finalize the election strategy and start the campaign.
NDA’s ‘equal share’ approved
The ongoing tussle regarding seat sharing in the NDA alliance for the upcoming elections in Bihar is now on the verge of ending. However, an official announcement is yet to be made on which party will contest on how many seats in the total 243 assembly seats of the state.
Possible formula: BJP and JDU will fight on 102-102 seats
According to inside news received from sources, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Janata Dal United (JDU) have decided to contest elections on equal number of seats. Under the formula prepared, BJP and JDU together will field their candidates on about 205 seats. BJP: Around 102 seats JDU: Around 102 seats That is, both the parties will field their candidates on 102-102 seats. In this number of seats, there can be a difference of one seat from any side (in front or behind). After this formula is finalized, candidates from other allies will be given a chance on the remaining seats. Soon this distribution is finalized and the names of the candidates are also likely to be decided.
Final formula of seats in Bihar NDA?
The ongoing talks in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) regarding seat sharing in Bihar have now reached a decisive point. There is news that an agreement for equal seats has been reached between BJP and JDU. Now the formula is being made for allies on the remaining 38 seats.
25 seats for Chirag, 7 seats for Manjhi and 6 seats for Kushwaha?
According to sources, the possible distribution of 38 seats could be like this: Chirag Paswan of Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas): 25 seats Jitan Ram Manjhi of HAM (HAM): 7 seats
Upendra Kushwaha of Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM): 6 seats
However, there is a hitch in this proposed formula. Chirag Paswan wants some special seats of his choice, on which no consensus has been reached with BJP yet. If the number of seats has to be increased to meet Chirag’s demand, then Manjhi and Kushwaha may have to pay the price, that is, their seats may be reduced. In such a situation, BJP may propose to give Rajya Sabha or Legislative Council seats in future to satisfy these smaller allies.
