Jharkhand: An emotional case has come to light from Jharkhand, where a government school teacher received an order for permanent (regular) appointment just a day before his retirement. Teacher Nandlal Ravani, resident of Jamtara, Jharkhand, celebrated his 60th birthday on Tuesday, July 1, 2026. A day before this, on Monday, the government gifted him a government job. Nandlal, a teacher who had been waiting for 30 years, became emotional after seeing the job letter. After serving on temporary or contract basis for nearly three decades, the teacher finally got the status of a regular employee, but this happiness came just before his retirement. According to the information, teachers were demanding regularization for a long time. After the process went on at various levels for years, finally the concerned department issued the order for his permanent appointment. Coincidentally, the order was issued just a day before his retirement date.
Got rights after 30 years of service
The teacher taught thousands of students during his tenure, but he could not get the status of a regular employee for a long time. After receiving the order for regularization, he described it as the result of years of struggle. Ravani was working as Jharkhand para teacher since 2006. He also passed the Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) in 2016.
Keep an eye on pension and service benefits
Now the biggest question is how effective this order of regularization will be in providing pension, gratuity and other service benefits to the teachers. The final decision in this regard will be taken on the basis of the rules and conditions of the order of the State Government.
topic of discussion among teachers
This matter has become a topic of discussion between the education department of Jharkhand and teacher organizations. Many teacher organizations say that regularization of employees who have served for years should be done in time, so that they can get all the statutory benefits after retirement. At present, this matter is also raising questions on the lengthy processes of government appointments and regularization. Getting a permanent job a day before retirement after serving for years has become a matter of serious debate on the administrative system.
