Mohammad Deepak BJP Offer: Deepak Kumar, popularly known as “Mohammed Deepak” in Kotdwar, Uttarakhand, is struggling with financial crisis these days. On one hand his gym is running in loss, on the other hand he is also getting offers to enter politics from many political parties including BJP. However, Deepak has made it clear that at present he has no intention of entering politics and he believes in his normal life only.
Claim of getting offer to join BJP
While talking to a YouTube channel, Deepak Kumar said that many people are advising him to enter politics. He told that a leader associated with BJP has also asked him to join the party.
Deepak said, “Everyone is saying join me. BJP is also asking me to join. Politics is like this.” Although he did not reveal the name of any leader, he definitely said that he has received offers from people associated with BJP.
During this, he has further said that he is not thinking of joining politics right now. The most important thing for him is the responsibilities of his family. Deepak said that he believes in living a normal life and at this time his entire focus is on his gym and home.
Child fees and running a household are the biggest concerns.
During the conversation, Deepak Kumar said that the biggest priority for him at this time is to pay his child’s school fees, his education and household expenses. He further said that no one knows what will happen in his life, but for now he wants to stay away from politics. He told that the financial situation has become so bad that he has not even been able to pay the rent for his gym for the last five months.
The number of people in the gym reduced from 200 to 50.
Deepak has told that his life changed completely after an incident on 26 January. He said that that day he had helped a Muslim shopkeeper and since then the situation kept worsening.
He told that earlier around 200 people used to come to his gym named “Hulk”, but now hardly 50 to 60 people are coming. The situation has become such that even meeting the expenses of the shop is becoming difficult.
Although Deepak is hopeful that the situation may improve in the coming time, but according to him, it may take another five to six months for the situation to become normal.
A complaint from the people of Kotdwar
Deepak Kumar has said that the local people of Kotdwar are very good, but he is sad about one thing that the people who used to come to his gym earlier are not returning now. Deepak believes that perhaps some kind of pressure is being put on those people not to go to his gym. He said that the family members of many people are also stopping them from doing so. He also told that the condition of his house has become so bad that now the expenses are being met from his mother’s tea shop.
No arrest made yet in January 26 case
During this, Deepak also told that no one has been arrested yet in the incident of January 26. He said that the people against whom the allegations are made are roaming freely. Deepak says that now he has started feeling that many such cases have started coming up again in Kotdwar and the atmosphere is gradually getting worse.
Controversy regarding price of slippers also mentioned
During this conversation, Deepak also mentioned another incident. He told that a woman reached the shop to buy slippers and asked the price. The shopkeeper told him the price of Rs 130. After which, after about eight to ten days, the same woman again reached the shop and again asked the price. This time the shopkeeper quoted the price of slippers as Rs 150. When the woman asked the reason for increasing the price, the shopkeeper said that he does not take his margin while closing the shop at night, hence the lower price was given earlier.
According to Deepak, the woman got enraged at this and started accusing the shopkeeper. Later she called her husband, who was said to be associated with Bajrang Dal in the area.
Allegation of beating on information of being Muslim
Regarding this, Deepak claims that when the man came to know that the shopkeeper was a Muslim, he beat him up. After this the shopkeeper was arrested and kept in the police station the whole night.
Deepak told that the next day the shopkeeper was asked to cut a slip of Rs 51 thousand in the name of the cow shed. Ultimately he had to pay Rs 20,000, but he did not receive any slip. He said that the shopkeeper did not want to escalate the matter and also did not want to appear on social media.
How did Deepak come into limelight?
According to reports, a dispute started on 26 January 2026 over a clothing shop in Kotdwar, Uttarakhand. Some people reached the shop of 70-year-old lawyer Ahmed, who runs a 30-year-old shop named “Baba School Dress” on Patel Marg, who described himself as associated with Bajrang Dal. These people objected to the use of the word “Baba” in the name of the shop and said that this word is associated with Hindus, hence a Muslim shopkeeper cannot use it. It is alleged that the shopkeeper was pressurized to change the name of the shop and he was also threatened.
Meanwhile, nearby gym operator Deepak Kumar reached there and supported the shopkeeper. Deepak said that any person has the right to name his shop and it is wrong to scare anyone like this. When the argument started increasing, the people present there asked Deepak his name. In response, Deepak said, “My name is Mohammad Deepak.” This video quickly went viral on social media and within no time the matter became a topic of discussion in the entire country.
After the video went viral, the atmosphere in Kotdwar became tense. Protests started and people from many organizations started reaching outside Deepak’s gym. Police deployed additional forces in the area. Later several FIRs were registered in this matter. On the other hand, Deepak Kumar also got support from some people on social media, while on the other hand he also had to claim to face threats.
