Uttarakhand News: Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami today inspected the emerging tourist destination Lohiahead Water Bypass located in Khatima area of Udham Singh Nagar district. During this, the Chief Minister observed the natural beauty and tourism potential of the area and obtained information from the officials related to the development of the site.
Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami said that there is immense potential for tourism in Lohiahead Water Bypass area. Keeping in mind the natural resources and local characteristics, this area will be developed as an attractive tourist destination.
He said that the state government is continuously working through various schemes to promote tourism. The Chief Minister said that work is also being done for the overall development of this area under ambitious projects like Sharda Corridor and Sharda River Front. This will increase tourist traffic in the area and will also give impetus to economic activities at the local level.
He said that developing as a tourist destination will create new employment opportunities for the local youth. There will also be an increase in the income of local businesses, self-employment and people. The government’s effort is to utilize the tourism potential of every region of the state and provide direct benefits to the local people.
The Chief Minister directed the District Magistrate and officials of related departments to ensure necessary action for the development of Lohiahead Water Bypass. He said that special attention should be paid to quality, environmental protection and local needs in development works.
On this occasion, district level officers including District Magistrate and officers of other concerned departments were present.
