RJD Candidate List: After long-running political discussions and brainstorming over candidate selection, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) finally released the list of its candidates for 143 seats on the day of Diwali. This announcement is being considered a big development in the politics of Bihar, especially because the party has given a chance to new faces while ignoring many old contenders. This list shows that RJD is entering the field this time with change and strategic balance.
New candidates for two seats of Sitamarhi
RJD has played a big bet by fielding new faces on Runnisaidpur and Parihar assembly seats of Sitamarhi district. This time, Dr. Smita Purve has been given ticket from Parihar seat (Assembly seat number 25). Smita Purve is the daughter-in-law of former minister Ramchandra Purve and has been active in social work for a long time. Earlier, Ritu Jaiswal, who was the state president of RJD Mahila Cell, was the runner-up from this seat. It was believed that he would get another chance, but this time the party decided to field a new face. At the same time, current JDU MLA Dilip Rai was also a contender for the ticket from Runnisaidpur. He had recently joined RJD and considering himself as a possible candidate, he had also started a public relations campaign in the area. But ultimately the party did not give him the ticket, due to which he is out of both the major parties.
Expressed confidence in old faces also
However, RJD has also expressed confidence in some old faces. Sunil Kumar Kushwaha has once again got a chance from Sitamarhi assembly seat (number 28), while Abu Dojana has been fielded again from Sursand (number 26). Both the leaders were runners up in the last elections and considering their hold, the party has made them candidates again.
Announcement of important names from Patna district also
Talking about Patna district, Ritlal Yadav from Danapur, Anirudh Yadav from Bakhtiyarpur, Rekha Gupta from Bankipur, and Rekha Paswan from Masaurhi have got tickets. Apart from this, Veena Devi has been fielded from Mokama seat, where she will face powerful NDA leader Anant Singh.
