Sasaram Patna Train Fire: There was chaos at Sasaram Junction in Bihar on Monday morning when a train (53212 Sasaram-Patna Fast Passenger) going from Sasaram to Patna suddenly caught fire. According to initial information, the fire in the train occurred due to short circuit. In the accident, the fifth bogie of the train was completely burnt to ashes, while the rear part of the fourth bogie also caught fire.
After the incident, there was a stir in the station premises and an atmosphere of fear and chaos was created among the passengers. Since it was morning time, there were a large number of passengers present on the platform.
There was a commotion at quarter to six in the morning
It is being told that this incident happened at around quarter to six in the morning. Sasaram-Patna fast passenger train was standing at platform number six to open as usual. The process of passengers boarding the train was continuing and people were preparing for their journey.
Meanwhile suddenly smoke was seen coming out of a bogie. When the people doing their morning walk noticed the smoke, they started making noise. Within no time the fire started spreading in the bogie and there was chaos on the spot.
Workers and fire brigade took charge
As soon as information about smoke and fire was received, the group of workers present at the rack point immediately reached the spot and started trying to extinguish the fire. After this, on receiving the information, the fire brigade team also reached the spot and with the help of local people and laborers, efforts were started to control the fire.
While the fire was controlled after a lot of effort, by then the fifth bogie of the train was completely burnt to ashes. The rear portion of the fourth bogie was also affected by the flames.
The train was cut and separated to prevent the fire from spreading.
Seeing the seriousness of the situation, the railway employees immediately decided to separate the remaining coaches. To save themselves from getting caught in the fire, the remaining bogies were cut and separated, so that the fire could not spread further and a major accident could be avoided.
After this incident, the train has been stopped at Sasaram station for the time being. Passengers are facing a lot of trouble due to the accident. Here many passengers were seen preparing to take other rides and buses to go to Patna and Ara.
Railways made special arrangements
In view of the increasing problems of the passengers after the incident, the railway administration dispatched the Sasaram-Ara passenger train standing at platform number seven on time, so that the passengers could be reached their destination on time.
After receiving information about the incident, senior officials of DDU Railway Division have also left for Sasaram. At present the matter is being investigated and efforts are being made to find out the exact cause of the fire.
