Gurnoor Brar News: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has given an official warning to India’s young fast bowler Gurnoor Brar after an incident that occurred in the first ODI match played against England. Along with this, one demerit point has also been added to his disciplinary record. This action was taken regarding the way the ball was thrown during the match.
What was the whole matter?
This incident happened in the eighth over of England’s innings. At that time, Gurnoor Brar, while fielding, threw the ball rapidly in the direction of batsman Ben Duckett. The ICC believes that the manner of throwing the ball was unfair and dangerous. For this reason, Brar was considered guilty of Level-1 rule of the players’ code of conduct. Although no player was injured in this incident, the ICC considered it against the spirit of the game and took action as per the rules.
Brar accepted his mistake
According to ICC, Gurnoor Brar accepted the charges leveled against him. He also accepted the punishment given by match referee Richie Richardson. Since the player had accepted the mistake, there was no need for a separate hearing in this matter. This is Brar’s first disciplinary case in the last 24 months. Therefore only one demerit point has been added to his record.
What is the punishment for a level-1 crime?
According to ICC rules, Level 1 violation is considered to be the lightest category of disciplinary offence. In this, the player may be given an official warning, some part of the match fee may be deducted or one to two demerit points may be given. In Brar’s case, he has been given a warning and one demerit point.
India won the match in spectacular style
Despite this incident, the Indian team performed brilliantly in the first ODI. Team India defeated England by six wickets and took a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. England batted first and scored 258 runs. For India, all-rounder Akshar Patel bowled brilliantly and took four wickets and prevented the opposition team from reaching a big score.
Captain Gill and Akshar led the victory
While chasing the target of 259 runs, Indian captain Shubman Gill played an important inning of 80 runs. However, at one time India’s four wickets had fallen at 160 runs and the team looked to be in trouble. After this Akshar Patel and Washington Sundar took the responsibility. Both the batsmen made an unbeaten partnership of 102 runs for the fifth wicket and easily led the team to victory. Akshar scored 57 not out, while Washington Sundar also contributed 52 not out. India scored 262 runs losing four wickets in 45.2 overs and won the match. Axar Patel was adjudged player of the match for his excellent all-round performance.

India will try to win this match and take a strong step towards winning the series, while England will enter the field with the intention of making a comeback.
